about

We learn a lot from the animal world. We make up idioms with animal names to describe one’s looks, character or behaviour; we even use them to describe certain qualities of things – how powerful is the engine of a car, for instance. ‘Horsepower’ is the term. We see drink tin cans with red bulls (oh, the countless toreros they’ve maimed, eviva España…) and sharks depicted on them, but what about pigs, one might ask? Decades ago a famous British author wrote a book which prominently features those creatures as cunning and greedy by nature, hungry for power. There are people who share these traits with pigs. We elect them, they have the power. It is PorkPower.
